State St., Sycamore, Ill., with Pastor Steve Persson officiating. Lunch will follow the service. Private burial will be held at a later date. Born Oct. 16, 1949, the daughter of Phil and Lou Ellen (nee Benhart) Hansen, she passed away very unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at her home in Cape Coral, Fla. She lived in the Elgin area most of her life, attending St. John's Lutheran School and Larkin High School. She worked for Illinois Bell and Omni Foods before moving to Florida seven years ago. Luann is survived by her parents; son, Michael (Mandi) Sommers of Hampshire and Kerrie (Christopher) Fay of Sycamore; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; siblings, Kathleen (Bill) Jansen, Connie (Randy) Higel, Ronald (Carleen) Hansen and Richard Hansen; many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and her loving dog companions, "Merci" and "Precious." She was preceded in death by her son, Philip McNeil in June 2003; granddaughter, Cassidy Sommers in Nov. 2000; and all her grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the family.
