Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Born Nov. 12, 1921, in Chicago, he died Friday, March 3, 2006, in Rockford. Mr. Engelking was a Marine veteran. He was the husband of Margaret P. "Peg" Engelking (nee Livingston); father of Sharon M. Swanson, Joyce L. (Ralph) Carlino and Debbie (Pat) Carroll; grandfather of Steve, Bob and Jeff Groble, Vicki Valenzuela, Traci (Jeff) Einstoss, and Megan and Erin Carroll; great-grandfather of Lauren, Lindsay, Brianne, Justin and Evan Groble, Ryan and Kyle Valenzuela, and Lindsey and Brandon Einstoss; and brother of Carl (Ruth) Engelking, Howard (Janet) Engelking and Connie Smith.
