Rieke a lifelong resident of Barrington Visitation for Lola E. Rieke, 97, will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main. St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. The Revered Dr. James Wilson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Born Nov. 5, 1907, in Barrington, she passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Ms. Rieke received her bachelor of arts degree in 1929 from Northwestern University. She was a teacher at Sunnyville School, outside of Barrington, and had worked as a secretary for the Barrington School District, Northwestern University and H.J. Nystrom and Company. Ms. Rieke enjoyed school office work, working in her home and garden, loved playing tennis and was an avid knitter and sewer. Survivors include her sister, Jean (the late David) Babb; brother, James (the late Mary Dee) Rieke; and nieces and nephews, George Rieke, Ka! thy Lawson, Jill Rieke, Julie Sofia, Rachel Weaver, Susan Babb, John Babb and James Babb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred L. and Edith (nee Hager) Rieke; and brother, Foster (Carol) Rieke. Memorials may be made to Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 W.
