    3. I have a handwritten letter from Charlotte which clarifies some of the mysteries of the first Sporleders in Schaumburg. She knew a good deal of the family history. It was she who claimed that Wilhelm Sporleder married one Vette girl. Then when she passed away he married Charlotte Vette, her sister. My family descends from Charlotte Vette. The other Sporleders buried at Schaumburg are offspring of this first Vette girl. They are listed as born in Jefferson, IL which is Jefferson Township, Cook County. It is now Norwood Park. Apparently Wilhelm moved to Schaumburg from Jefferson Township after the first Vette girl passed on. I believe that this is how the Vette land, which they acquired in the first Federal land grants, passed into the Sporleder family. From there Great Grandfather AC Sporleder had lands where the golf course is now. Grandfather Edgar Sporleder had lands where Hoffman Estates is now. He sold that land and bought land in turn near Elkhorn, WI where my parents still reside today. So land has passed through 6 or 7 generations depending on how you look at it. 3. I have just now related to a family Vette that I knew of in jefferson township which I can tell you is at the end of higgins road at Milwaukee avenue in chicago... encompasing jefferson park and portage park neighborhoods... Lloyd, unless you know that the family was specifically from NORWOODPARK lands, I would offer that they were closer to the MILWAUKEE avenue throroughfaire as far south as IRVING PARK ROAD where I know the VETTE family was QUITE involved early on in business and in govt.... I will check more into this through a friend from that area.... and will report... Lloyd... I would appreciate... and I suspect others would as well, if you would transcribe verbatim for the list, the letter that you have from Charlotte... have you a name on the first VETTE girl and her burial place and date? or parent names so I can get a note off to my friend... ----- Original Message ----- From: Lloyd<mailto:glaucusrex@yahoo.com> To: IL-COOK-SCHAUMBURG-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:IL-COOK-SCHAUMBURG-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 16, 2005 10:57 AM Subject: Re: [ILckSCH] obit - Meyer Sporleder Benson and old one I have a handwritten letter from Charlotte which clarifies some of the mysteries of the first Sporleders in Schaumburg.
