Larry--you are amazing. Thank you so much for using your time this way, and for being willing to share it with all of us. I always find a few more entries in your data. This is the only way we will get the big picture. There was an article in todays Chicago Trib that Kane Co is buying several farms to add to their forest preserves--and I recognized several of the names. These are people willing to sell--not take overs. I am always so glad when land is being kept green. My husbands grandparents farm was on Nerge and Route 53, so I think good thoughts about you when ever I hear or read your name. Happy Holidays. Grace
Larry, I see you have several Wille's in your family tree. My great great grandparents, Heinrich an Dora Wille, came to Chicago in May of 1872. For some reason I cannot find a connection to the Wille's listed in the Chicago area. One of their daughter's, Wilhelmina (Minnie) Wille married Fred Topel August 24, 1883 in Chicago, IL. They remained living in the Chicago, IL area. Another daughter of their's was Elisabeth Wille born April 13, 1853, who married John Carl Meyer in Chicago at the First Zion Lutheran Church on September 27, 1872. They moved to Clayton County, IA around 1874. They are my great grandparents. I have been loooking for this Wille family in Germany for a long time. The last residence they listed on the Hamburg manifest was Gross Wanzer which is in Saschen-Anhalt. I am unable to find any information on them being there. I did find on Family Search a JOHAN HRINRICH WILLE marrying a SOPHIE ELISABETH DOROTHEE BOCK before 1886(SHOULD BE 1859) in Neuendorf-, Klotze, Sachsen, Preussen. Then it says they had a child named Heinrich Gustav Wille born on August 21, 1859 in Neuendorf. So, I would think they got married before August 21, 1859. These names could possibly be my gr gr grandparents if they used the names Heinrich and Dorothee. I see on your index you have a Catharina Maria Wille who maried a BOCK. Her dates were 10/19/1753 - 8/9/1835. Do you know where the Bock she married was from? What family tree do you have the Willes listed on? Do any of my Wille family look familiar to you? Thank you so much for a reply.
