Nolte of Libertyville Services for Herman E. Nolte, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Interment will follow in Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Born Nov. 6, 1910, in Palatine, he passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at Condell Medical Center. Herman was employed as a Lake County sheriff for four years and retired after 20 years with the Libertyville Police Department. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville and a current member of the Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge and was a life member of the Illinois Police Association. Surviving are his daughters, Joan (Pat) Jennings of Libertyville and Bette (Robert) Walsh of Lindenwood, Ill.; grandchildren, Kevin Jennings, and Bryan, Michael! , Lisa, Mario, Diana, Matthew, Jason, Joel, Danny, Tony, Francine and Rita Walsh; and great-grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Selena, Alison, Cara, Tyler, Kyle, Jacob, Oscar, Austin and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sophia Nolte; wife, Mabel on Jan. 5, 1998; eight brothers and four sisters; and infant granddaughter, Cristina Walsh. Memorial contributions can be made to the Paramedic Unit of the Libertyville Fire Department or Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church. For information, 847-362-3009.
