Hi Ellen & Carla, Go to http://www.cookcountyassessor.com/Property_Search/Property_Search.aspx Scroll down to search by address and obtain the PIN (Property Identification Number). This is a County site, so don't forget to enter the city or you will have to start all over. Once you have the PIN you can pull up the info that the assessor has on that house. Another site I use is CityNews. Sometimes that actually has more info regarding age of building, etc. www.newschicago.org The Recorder's Office has online info for transactions beginning 1/1/1985. You can't purchase them online, but at least you can see some of the action. To my knowledge, they don;t take written or phone requests for documents, but you can call or email them to find out for sure. If all else fails and you really want some documents, contact me offlist. Cher
I'll give it a try. Thanks!
