Hi Carla and Karen, Welcome to this list! I'm very sorry, though, that I can't help you on this; there are no "reverse" directories, that I know of for those years. City directories stopped in the late 1920's and were replaced by phone books. Only those who had private lines were listed, I believe; Party lines, weren't. (List, please correct me if my understanding is incorrect). If you are looking for specific surnames, you can ask for a surname look-up here; maybe a list member will volunteer for you. Otherwise, the Arlington Heights Memorial Library has phone books and will do paid look-ups. Good Luck! Cher What we need help with is who was living at the following addresses . > > 514 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois , 1948 or a year or two before or after, and > > 1817 North Sawyer, Chicago, Illinois 60647 , 1966 or a year > or two before or after.
I tried a different method but came up with nothing. I tried putting the addresses in on the "exact phrase" portion of Access Newspaper Archive, which checks, among others, Chicago newspapers for any time the address appeared in the paper. Neither address gave any results for that time period, unfortunately. I also tried News Bank's America's Obituaries and Death Notices. The only result I had was that on 9-12-1913, Thomas McConnell was living at that address when he died. The other address resulted in no results.
