I am also trying to access the Newberry Library to see if they have any telephone books online from the early 1900's online and if those listings (addresses) agree with the ones I have. I am surprised that there isn't more information available. The time span of Prohibition in the US, 1920 to 1933, would have impinged on many if not most of the family histories that we research. In May I am dragging my wife (kicking and screaming :)) to Chicago to visit "home" and the places I remember or have meaning to my Family Tree. It will be my first trip back since the early '80s. I make a living as a photographer and mean to bring back pictures of as many locales, buildings, house, and churches, even graves, as I can reach in the 3-4 days that we are there.
