    3. Nearly all of my experience is with Polish parishes...St. Stanislaus Kostka, St. Aloysius, and St. Hedwig seem to stand out.   They all vary a bit in format and content, i.e., St. Stan's is the only one I've seen that indicates the addresses of the bride and groom.  Sometimes it seemed to depend upon which priest was making the entry.  Some were very diligent and precise in detail, while it was apparent others just wanted to get it over with...with those, you are lucky to get the names and date.   The worst were those who didn't even bother to record the marriage entry.  I have two of those.  One for a cousin on my Mom's side; the church was St. Boniface (1910).  The other was for my paternal grandparents; the church was St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral (1916).  I petitioned St. Nicholas and the Archdiocese of Chicago Archive Department (St. Boniface's recorded are stored there), providing copies of the County marriage licenses as proof, with a notarized certification on the back indicating the source and verifying that it was a true and correct copy.  Both incorporated the information into their records as an addendum.   Ruth --- On Tue, 4/28/09, patricia meyers <pattimeyers67@att.net> wrote: From: patricia meyers <pattimeyers67@att.net> Subject: Re: [IL-COOK-CHICAGO] William Morley To: il-cook-chicago@rootsweb.com Date: Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 9:29 AM Hi, Ruth, What church are you referring to?  I haven't had that luck with my family.  I have seen records for a time frame where the priest mentioned the county in Ireland where the family originated...very helpful, but for the most part, I've only seen the names of witnesses.  No parents but that could be because the parents were deceased.
