I'm not sure about all church records, but I know the Roman Catholic church marriage records for my family during that timeframe are a wealth of information. Parents are almost always listed, as well as the age and residence of the bride and groom and, often, where they were born...particularly helpful if not in the U.S. Witnesses are also listed, which sometimes connects you to additional family members. Again, this is what is contained in the Roman Catholic church marriage records in that timeframe.
