I did an inter-library loan and looked through newspapers to find the obituary, but I could not find one at all. The circumstances of the death were in the newspaper because it was a murder and I did get those news stories. I am trying to find out the name of his wife & other family, which was not listed either in the death certificate, coronerTMs inquest, or the news stories. This is what I know - Joseph Santora - died Dec. 11, 1912 in Chicago of gunshot. He was buried in Mt Carmel Cemetery on 14 or 15 Dec 1912, in the unmarked graves Section X, Block 24, Lot 53, Age at death: Not listed/34?, 37?, Clergyman: G. Garnbera, Peter Maloney funeral chapel which was at 1004 Wells (which is now gone & the other Maloney home there now says they ae not the same funeral home). Alternate names could be - Joseph Santora, Joseph Santoro, Guiseppe Santora, Guiseppe Santoro, Joseph Santaro (it is spelled this way in the Chicago death index online) This is my Great-Grandfather and you would think I would know his wife´s name, but I don´t since there was a re-marriage. Any info you can find about him is greatly appreciated. The death certificate shows that he is married (but she was probably back in Italy again at the time of his murder - per news stories). This is such a brick wall & myste ry for me. Any other suggestions are welcome, too - definitely!
