    3. FYI..............   The earlier marriage applications, pre early 1900's, aren't worth purchasing.  There's no  information  in addition to the license other than a signature.   Judie Mason Chicago --- On Fri, 2/20/09, Bonnie Brown <brown_bonnie@att.net> wrote: From: Bonnie Brown <brown_bonnie@att.net> Subject: [IL-COOK-CHICAGO] Marriage Certificates/Applications in Cook County To: il-cook-chicago@rootsweb.com, irish-in-chicago@rootsweb.com Date: Friday, February 20, 2009, 7:29 AM To answer the questions I've received: You cannot order the marriage application online through the cookcountygenealogy.com link. You have to do it in person at the County Clerk's office at 69 W. Washington lower level. They do have a new office layout, much more efficient than the old place. I had to pay $15 for the marriage certificate, PLUS another $15 for the license application...hey, we've got politician's relatives to support here! Please excuse my sarcasm ;-} Hope this helps. 2. That may be true for Cook Co., but it is not for some of the rest of the Illinois counties. The 1895 marriage application for my Gr Grandmother shows her full name, date and place of birth, names of her parents [maiden name of mother] and the same info for the intended spouse.
