Perhaps it was his father [or Uncle? or Grandfather?] who was in the Civil War, as if Frank was 48 years old in 1910, he could not have been in the Civil War. Alsip, plant manager of the Calumet Brick Company died Satruday at St. Francks' hospital, Blue Island from pneumonia. He was born in Mcgregor, IA 48 years ago, and had been a resident of Chicago since 1873. He served in the First Illinois Cavalry during the Spanish war. Maj. Alsip is survived by a dt, a brother and two sisters.
