    3. Hazel, The Beecher City that you found is more than likely not the Beecher City in Effingham County, Illinois. More than likely your Beecher City, Illinois is Beecher, Illinois which is in eastern Will County, Illinois. The town/city of Beecher, Illinois is located along Illinois Highway 1 which is also known at Dixie Highway. Beecher, Illinois is less than 10 miles north of Grant Park, Illinois. I would strongly suggest that you do your researching in Beecher, Will County, Illinois rather than the town in Effingham County which is at least 150 miles further south. There is a Kankakee Valley Genealogical Society located in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
