    3. Is there a way of searching deaths after 1950 in Chicago/cook county either by requesting help from IDPH or Cook County or by going in person? This relative was born in Russia about 1865, was still alive in 1945, does not show up in the Illinois online death index that goes until 1950. No social security. I live in Chicago so I could search in person if one is permitted to. Susan --------------------------------- Relax. Yahoo! Mail virus scanning helps detect nasty viruses!

    3. I would call all the Jewish cemeteries in the area starting with Waldheim asking for them to check their computer for deaths after 1945 just to be safe. They are very nice and most have the information on computer. Waldheim will even fax you a map of the location. That way you will know exactly when he died and can order his death certificate.
