Got this From the Newberry Library site: 12/1/2005 Fire at Northeastern Illinois University Temporarily Closes IRAD The Illinois Regional Archives Depository (IRAD) at Northeastern Illinois University has closed due to a fire at the Ronald Williams Library. According to the university's Web site, the target date for the reopening of the library is January 2nd. Check here or call (773) 442-4410 for additional details. According to the Chicago Tribune, the fire broke out on the night of November 28th (click here). There was smoke damage, but there were no injuries and no materials were burned. Although the library has established a temporary location in the student union, the reference librarian on duty today confirmed that there is no access to any of the library's collections, including IRAD, until the library reopens.
