the chicago trib, the times and the daily hearld all use legacy.com along with about 200 other newspapers... one would be doing a service for themselves to make legacy.com a favorite... and dont forget to check the guestbooks of the entries....withithin a month of the first posting... now.. in terms of more than one month, yes ouwill have to consider payment but know that you will be able to see the paper and i think the date that the obit ran and then could approach a library in that area for the listing... guestbooks are good things.. you might get some insit about the person from these signors... insite you may never get from family.....
