You have to be a subscriber, then you can follow the link to the portal, type in your card number (which they give you) and the basic password (same for all). That will take you to the database screen where you make your choices. NewspaperArchive.com is one, so is ProQuest, Newsbank Obituaries (including Chicago Tribune Historical Archives), etc. ProQuest also includes much of the Chicago Tribune from 1849 to the present, but not everything is there.
