    3. 120th and Kedzie is an OK neighborhood; not great, but OK. The cemetery I warned against was on Halsted. That is DEFINITELY bad news. Cheryl [email protected] wrote: I am wondering if there is anyone brave out there in Chicago? I have a great great grandmother Emeline Darling SPOONER who is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery 12000 So Kedzie, Blue Island, Illinois. She died while living with her son at was 3858 Archer Avenue, Chicago, ILL on December 23, 1907. Can anyone tell me about Archer Avenue in 1907? I understand the cemetery neighborhood is risky for people to get a photo of her grave. She is buried in Div. 26 Lot 21 in Section 1, Row 1, Grave 3, and I would dearly love a photo and learn who owned the plot and who she might be buried with. Emeline's daughter-in-law, Jennie Rich Shultes, wife Perry SHULTES died June 02, 1911. I cannot find her anywhere. Now, wouldn;t you think she would be buried close to her mother-in-law--OR NOT--or somewhere in IL? She sure doesn't seem to be buried in Erie or Cattauraugus Countys NY where she was born and lived most of her life. What are my chances I could get a photo of Emeline's gravestone and a peek at her neighbors? Any advice? 3. Have you thought about contacting the cemetary staff? I have not had experience with this cemetery specifically. But when I was actually IN Chicago, the staff at other cemeteries was very helpful in providing photocopies of the burial map. \ <I'm not sure this is the exact name. But like a street map, it shows grave sites, who owns them, who is buried there along with dates and other info provided by the undertaker. sometimes they even have copies of the obit.> Perhaps you might talk to that one kind soul who would be willing to take a digital photo and send it by email.
