Yah, well, Opened my Reader Digest yesterday and there was a notice in there that since they sent me a notice that if I did NOT want to renew, that I needed to notify them. As I had NOT notified them, I now owe $19. I sure do not recall seeing the notice. I probably would have renewed, but I am ticked about the way they have done it. Now I am not sure. Hi, Ellen, The ripoff report sounds like what happened to me when I signed up for 3 months of classmates.com No one ever responded to an email or a phone call and there was no way to talk to a real person.  That's why when I saw the request for credit card information I did not follow through on the newspaper archives.
