    3. I'm not sure about all church records, but I know the Roman Catholic church marriage records for my family during that timeframe are a wealth of information.  Parents are almost always listed, as well as the age and residence of the bride and groom and, often, where they were born...particularly helpful if not in the U.S.  Witnesses are also listed, which sometimes connects you to additional family members.  Again, this is what is contained in the Roman Catholic church marriage records in that timeframe.   Ruth --- On Tue, 4/28/09, GEORGE MORLEY <gemor01@yahoo.ca> wrote: From: GEORGE MORLEY <gemor01@yahoo.ca> Subject: Re: [IL-COOK-CHICAGO] William Morley To: IL-COOK-CHICAGO@rootsweb.com Date: Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 6:43 AM I received a copy of the marriage license for William Morley and Mary Jane Davidson in 1887 from IRAD.Is there anything that would contain information as to Williams parents names or should I go to the county clerks office?Would the church record have more information? 3. Try www.chicagoancestors.org Click on tools and you will find a lot of items to check out.  If you enter an address, the site will show you churches in that same area. Remember, tho, that Chicago reorganized their street addresses about 1909, so the 484 address might be a different number in 1910.  If the 3rd United Presbyterian church doesn't show up when you click on "churches," hopefully someone on the list is a Presbyterian and can advise you on what to do next. Good luck! 3. I sent an inquiry via the national website requesting my grandfather's records, supplying his name and which local council he was in. They responded two days later and confirmed his name, KofC membership number, date of birth and death, when he joined and achieved each level, which councils he belonged to when. Nothing earth-shattering but it's further filling out details of the man he was. Katie Brown
