Hi Val, I checked Ancestry's directories for Chicago. They don't have every year but I checked what years they do have from 1844 through to 1917. No record of P L Huckins. If I check my address only 3358 Osgood only comes out in 1910 & 1917. Where would one find a book of K.A.M..Temple Cemetery Book. It combined with Sinai a few years ago so I do not know.

The book, which dates back to 1880 when the synagogue was founded, is divided into two sections. The first contains an alphabetical list of family plots; the second is organized by plot number and lists the amounts of money paid to maintain the cemetery plots. The book also contains valuable handwritten information on the burials and correspondence with family members. We recognized what a valuable genealogical resource this book was and how helpful it could be to individuals tracing their family roots. So we had the pages scanned and family names indexed for easy reference, explains Marlene Dodinval, president of Emanuel. I'm helping a very dear friend's son do house research.... the AMATEUR way........ here's what I know, and what I've found. I'm hoping my genealogy friends will help me .... and I would appreciate any and all advice or tidbits to help this search.......... Here's what I've found myself, using only the Tribune archives and the "free" stuff available to me online" The house is at 3816 N. Wilton A woman named Sarah Howard died while living at the address 2/13/1916 The 1928 Polk reverse directory shows Anna MacKinnon Mrs living there. A gentleman names Daniel Baker died while living there 12/31/1950 Mrs. Anna Rotsted MacKinnon died while living there in 1951. (all obituaries below). Now obviously, I'm not putting together any sort of formal history for them, nor am I charging for any of my services. He presented this book to my wife Lois the first time they met shortly after we were married in 1968. That is all I know about it. The book was by Dorthea S. Kopplin and she must have liked the poem also as it is the fist one in the book as part of the preface. Please read the forward and preface so you will know what Ms. Kopplin's mindset was. I suspect she may have changed the gender of the poem with his permission so it would meet her needs. If you would like I will go into the attic and find a couple of examples of the weekly newspaper articles he wrote for the Galv! a News for many years. It was called the Provincial Gardner and was a unique blend of gardening tips and anything else that was on his mind. As far as digging into his past, I am not really interested as I am quite content to remember him exactly as I do. He was quite a guy, generous to a fault, loved and respected by all and kind as any man could be.
