Thank you all for your leads. It was very much appreciated Have a nice day everyone.
The regular LDS site, www.familysearch.org has the International Genealogical Index. I have found some marriages 1900-1908 there; by now it might even go further than 1908. That's the fast way for the record. The way Mary told you will give you base information as well, for free. Much less expensive! www.cookcountygenealogy.com. Must register, that's free, there is a search, but only license number, married parties names and license date show. You must be the record (which is then downloadable). The record is $15.00 and you can use a credit card. Thank you Mary, Wouldn't you know it, a great database and not one marriage I was looking for appeared on that site ( smile ) I will keep this site on hand, it is only 666 % completed as you say, maybe when it is 100 % something will pop up In the meantime, thank you again appreciated it.

Yes, you can narrow it down. What is the address? Is it south side or north? To add a bit more information to the thread: Yesterday I ordered a Marriage License Application from David Orr's Vital Statistics office at the County Building. I had no less than three people tell me I didn't want it, that it had no additional information, but they did process the order, and it does say "Marriage Application" on the order receipt. $15, just like the certificate, must be mailed, just like any gene. order placed on-site. Now we'll see what arrives in the mail....... Bonnie

Once you register (free and you don't need to be a CPS alum to do so),you can search for individual schools. The individual school page has a photo (if available) and some info. Also, once you're logged in, go to the lower right hand corner of the page, to the "Get Historical Attendee Records". This has the graduates and admittees for each school, each year---downloadable and searchable. An incredible resource. Good luck. Is there a way of finding out what schools my parents attended by their home address? dolores
Lived in Norridge, per SSDI. Out in suburbs. May not have been in Chicago papers. Can't find it online in GenealogyBank.com. Does carry Trib from 1985 forward and Sun Times from 1986-present. Not all obituaries show online. Also possible there may not have been one, at least in these papers. Waters School was the public school in my neighborhood when I was growing up. We went to Queen of Angels School, 1 block away from Waters. Linda, Anybody can create an account and log in. I did, and I'm not an alum. And I agree with you about Perry Duis' book Challenging Chicago. Isn't that an interesting book?!?
