I have found a picture of the national flag for the 147th Illinios infantry and I would like to make a replica of it but I need to make sure that the picture I have is correct. The picture shows that the flag has a rectangular field with two oval circles (inner circle has 10 stars outter has 21) the two oval rings are surrounded by 4 stars (one in each corner. A picture of it can be seen at the following http://www.civil-war.com/searchpages/result.asp?Name=147th&category=Infantry&Submit=Search+for+Flags there are no dimensions listed so I am assuming this is a 3' x 5' flat with the field being 20" wide across the top and bottom. Can anyone verify this or tell me what the correct dimensions might be? _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
Dawn, Use what information you have available to you from the website; The Adjutant General of the State of Illinois can verify this information for you and can tell you what the correct dimensions are; this office holds the flag, at least that's what I understand from the website. The webmaster's name and email is also at the bottom of the website; use his/her email address and confirm this information. He/She could probably be a great help to you.
