    3. I checked the on-line Andersonville prison records, and could not find a match for Jown W. Curl - although spelling on these records is notoriously bad. Do you have his service and pension files from NARA? -----Original Message----- From: Floyd E Gingrich [mailto:gingrichfe@juno.com] Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2001 9:08 AM To: IL-CIVIL-WAR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [IL-CIVIL-WAR] John Curl If you find your guy, he may be related to a John E. Curl, who married my Grand Aunt ida Gingrich in 1899. I'm looking for his dates and ancestry. We may have a common goal. Curl. He was in the Civil War and was a prisoner at the Andersonville Prison Camp. The information I have so far is that he enlisted in 1863. Word has it that when he came home it was in a sheet and he was just skin and bone. I am a little confused about this because I was told he died a short time after he came home. The confusion lies in the time frame of 30 years. The war ended in 1865, if I recall and he died in 1892 in Dewitt County. He married Delcina Lane and had several children. 30 years is not a short time. Can anyone give me any information on this. Thank you and have a nice day :) Janice
