Yes Judy, there could have been more then one John W. Curl. There is a Curl that is related to the Swisher family but I don't think it was my John Curl. The only other info I have is his discharge papers(copy). States that he was born in Ohio and enlisted in 1863 to serve 3 years. He was discharged at Springfield, Illinois in 1865 by reason of Telegram War Dept. I have no idea what this means. I would be more then happy to receive any information you find about John W. Curl.
