The standard issue for privates in Illinois - and most of the Union army - was a sky blue Kersey wool with no trim. There were a couple of versions issued by different depots - but they werent significantly different. J. T. Martin was the largest supplier of Union uniforms. Although you didn't ask, the standard issue jacket was a dark blue wool sack coat with four brass eagle buttons. Again, J. T.
