    3. Hello, I would like to add to Mr Laymans request on a picture of his greatgrandfather from the 48th. If anyone as any pictures of the men from the 48th, I would very much like to have a copy of them to add to my website on this regiment. I do have some pictures but would like to add as many as I can. My GG Grandfather served with this unit from its start until he was discharged because of a wound received at the Battle of Shiloh. I have been unable in locating any know photo of him and I am hoping maybe I can find one this way. His name was Frederick H Layman; he enlisted from White County, city of Carmi and is now buried at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Franklin County.
