A book from the son of Col. John Bryner originally published in 1924 is being reprinted. The book was originally commemorating the 70th anniversary of the historic Lincoln/Douglas sppeches on October 16, 1854, at the Peoria County Courthouse. 1000 copies are being reprinted. The proceeds of the new edition will benefit the continuning restoration of the Grand Army of the Republic Greenhut Memorial Hall (Byrner's GAR Post 67) 416 Hamilton Blvd., Peoria, Illinois, which was built by the Civil War Veterans in 1909, and placed on the National Historic Register of Sites in 1976.
