I am going to guess this message was sent from an address other than the one used to subscribe. To prevent spam Rootsweb requires all postings to come from the address you used to subscribe to the list. One of the entries for losses sustained was the Clinton Co. Telephone Co. Bell didn't invent the telephone until 1876 and phones didn't get to small communities until the 1890's, due to technical development. That would lead one to suspect the cyclone would have been a lot closer to 1900 than 1860. If either of the churches don't have records for repairs, you could bet that the Gov't does.
