    3. Searching for information about Reverend Larkin CRAIG b SC 1793 father Thomas CRAIG, Revolutionary War veteran, and Frances BROWN. Family > KY ca 1800. Larkin is said to have taught at "Kentucky College" in the 1820's. Family > Montgomery CO IL ca 1828. A Baptist minister of the Missionary Baptists, Larkin is on record as having performed marriages in Montgomery from that date. He served as Illinois State Senator 1832-1837 representing Montgomery, Macoupin, and Bond COs. In 1840 he m Nancy Martin KEEL and soon removed to Macoupin CO where he farmed until at least 1880. For forty years he pastored the Bethel Regular Baptist Church in Montgomery CO, commuting every week from his home in Macoupin. In spite of Larkin's many community connections spanning half a century, information about his death has been difficult to find. I am eager to locate an obituary (I would imagine in Montgomery or Macoupin) and/or information about his place of burial. Larkin CRAIG's father Thomas Craig is buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Larkin's sibs were Mildred m John BOOHER, Elizabeth m Hiram BROWN, Thomas JR, Jesse, James, and Samuel. Of Larkin's fifteen children, those who survived were Frances m David Monroe STARR, William m Emma PERRINE, Martha, Jesse, Thomas, Mildred Amelia m JONES. His wife was Nancy Martin KEEL d/o Carter KEEL and Rachel FLOURNOY who came to IL from KY in 1839 and farmed in Macoupin ca 1840-1880. Any help in locating Larkin's death notice or obituary will be appreciated. Please contact direct. Thanks, Nora <ectocus@21stcentury.net> PS It should be noted that my Larkin CRAIG is not the same Larkin CRAIG who was of the Tolliver CRAIG line in KY.
