Peg: The copy of the marriage license for James Carson and Matilda Poulston (mygggrandparents), that I received from the county clerk in Vandalia, came with a separate document included that was signed by James's father; it attested the ages of both parties. I'm assuming this is a marriage bond--maybe that's the wrong terminology?
