Researching: James S. CARSON, in Fayette County from 1830s; signed son James' marriage bond in Vandalia in 1845. James m Matilda POULSTON or POLSTON in 1845. James and Matilda CARSON appear on 1850 census records for Shelby County. Several older CARSON children are also listed, as well as Mary CARSON, b 1846 in Pana, Christian County, so James may have been married before. We have family tradition that James' wife was Mildred OVERTON, but no real evidence. If anyone recognizes any of these people, I'd sure like to hear; will share what I have. Please e-mail me.
