He had 3 sons, John, James Wiley, Preston and at least one stepdaughter, Elizabeth (she later married an Anderson. Preston Taylor is my ggg father. He married Jane Welch. Pate and Faulkner are allied families. The Taylors moved in and out of Washington and Marion Counties (found by census). Would love to find more about this family. Any help greatly appreciated.

Am searching for any information on Trainer, Troner, Troener or Jacobsmeier. My ggrandfather Joseph Andrew Trainer (Troener - Troner) was born in Lippstadt, Germany in 1840, came to the US in 1847, and married my ggrandmother Elizabeth Jacobsmeier, also born in Germany, abt 1864 in the vicinity of Aviston, Clinton County (possibly Rose). They later moved to Sunflower County Mississippi and then to Helena, Phillips County, Arkansas where she died in 1913 and he in 1917. Since the family name was changed (when I don't know) I'm having trouble tracing them before they moved to Arkansas. Any help will be appreciated. Joe Trainer joetrainer@aol.com
Walter Alexander is one of our most difficult "brick walls". He and his first wife (my direct line) died before 1850, and we know nothing of Walter's siblings or parents. The 1880 census of a daughter in MN, shows that he was born in KY. Can't find WHERE or WHO in KY. Likely residences with "about" dates: Walter Alexander and Catherine Jolliff were married in Orange Co. IN in 1822. 1823-1830 lived in Jefferson Co. IL 1831-1836 lived in Washington Co. IL 1836-1838 lived in Pettis Co. MO 1843--1848 probably lived in Marion Co. IL Walter's "probate" (letters of administration only) were early in 1848; Catherine died Marion Co. ? in about 1843. All of Walter and Catherine's children married Marion Co., except son Walter, who married in Clinton Co. Here is an outline of what we have. Any help would be appreciated. I am looking for the parents of Olive THORPE who married Alexander ANDERSON 24 July 1851 in Fayette or Marion Co., IL. Olive, I believe, was born in Ohio. My other big mystery is for Jemima BLANKENSHIP. Jemima married Edward HILL 28 July 1802 in Mecklenburg Co., VA. I find nothing more on her until she shows up in the Macon Co., IL census as head of the family. Her children for the most part stayed in Macon Co. but I find nothing on where or when she died or where she is buried. Any little clue will be much appreciated. Thanks so much for this list, it really meets the needs of those who are researching central Ill, as county lines changed and so it is sometimes hard to pinpoint just where to look at a certain time. Helen in Idaho [born in Decatur, IL]

I am especially looking for record of my gggrandfather, David Warden b. abt. 1834 m. Zelpha Jane Mulvaney on March 23, 1854. Zelpha was the daughter of Christopher Mulvaney b. in Marion County and I have quite a bit of info on MULVANEY. My family believes that David died in the Civil War however, I have been unable to confirm this info. The only record of David that I have been able to locate is a marriage license issued to Zelpha J. Mulvaney and "Davis Warren" which I believe to be a spelling error. They had a son, Thomas Riley Warden b. 1858 in Marion Co., he is my ggrandfather, and 3 daughters, Linda, Virra, and Harriet Ann, all born in Marion Co. Any info appreciated. Jeannie
My grandmother was, Hattie Elizabeth THOMPSON, born in 1889 in Cornel, Livingston Co., Illinois and her brother was , David S. THOMPSON, born 1892 in Cornel, Illinois. There was also an older brother, Frank, and a brother, Freddie, who drowned in 1900. They were raised in Sangamon County. Hattie married Robert COOMER and they lived in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois. David S. THOMPSON married Edna ? and they moved to Taylorville, Christian Co., Illinois. I am looking for the family of David THOMPSON because I have several pictures that they may want. I think they had a son named David, Jr., Albert, and Charles. I think some of the family may still be in Christian County. Thanks, Carol Papke
Faith, Do you have a Mathis married to Jahoda Catherine Alexander before 1853? I don't know his first name, nor where they lived after marriage. I don't know children, etc. etc. She had a second marriage in 1854. Jahoda may have been known as Catherine or Hoda. She was born about 1832. Thanks, Dot
My ggrandfather was Owen Sowards b 1830. According to information given by Cora Sowards, wife of his son Willliam, Owen's parents were Henry and Mary and Owen was orphaned at an early age and lived with the Hoshar family in Woodford co. I have found records of a land purchase by a Henry Sowards in Mclain co in the 1830's and also Woodford co. A Henry Sowards married iMary Van Buskirkn the 1840's in Woodford co but because of the time could not have been the Henry and Mary I am seeking. Anyone have a piece of this puzzle?
