    2. Merle Bellmer
    3. My apologies if this message comes through twice, but it was returned, so I am trying again. ------------- Can anyone help with WILLIAM HOWARD, who lived in Marion County probably from at least around 1838 through 1850 census. He and his wife are buried in Marion Co. Here is what I have pieced together from marriage records in Dickson Co. TN, census records 1850 Marion Co. IL, cemetery records Marion Co. IL and land records from both glorecords and The IL State Archives public domain land sales. I would just like to see if these are the people that I think they are. William HOWARD married Jane HADDEN May 9, 1833, Dickson Co. TN. Moved to IL with at least her family, if not his too??? Bought land in 1838 and 1839; one 40 acre plot was in the same section as Jane's sister and her husband, James C. and Penelope (HADDEN) LACKEY. Census records Marion Co. 1850 show he was 37?? and she was 49?? Ages don't match tombstones. Cemetery listings show William Howard was born August 9, 1805, died August 20, 1883. Jane Howard was born January 18, 1806, died November 4, 1871. They are buried near his likely parents (the only Howards in the book) and ALSO the same cemetery in which Jane Hadden's father was buried. Does anyone know if this was indeed the same William Howard and Jane Hadden who married in Dickson Co. TN??? Thanks a lot. Dot

    3. Michelle, Another map source is the USGENWEB Project. Each state web site, or at least most of them have a clickable state map for accessing county web pages, i.e. a state map with the outline od all the counties. It's located at www.usgenweb.com/.
