    3. I am searching for any evidence of my ggg uncle, Charles A. Evans, born 1/17/1842 in Ohio. His father would have been born in Massachusetts, although I have found census records of Charles's siblings which state his father was born in Ohio. His mother was born in Ohio. I know Charles served in the Civil War, and that his regiment was mustered out of Bloomington in McLean County in 1864. I also know that his sister's obituary states that, after spending time in New Mexico, she was sent to State Normal in Bloomington to live in 1861. I never knew why she was sent there, but I am hoping Charles was there in 1860. His brother, Henry, is in Tayloville in Christian County, in the 1860 census. I have to date been unable to pinpoint Charles in any census records or on the Statewide Marriage Index because his name is so common. Last night I found his birthdate on a cemetery tombstone transcription from Blandinsville in McDonough County. According to his sister's obituary, he died there in 1905, but does not appear in the 1900 Blandinsville census, which is online. If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Sue _________________________________________________________________ Getting married?
