It states that James was married in Oct. 28,1886 and he was 25 yrs old (this making his birthdate 1861) a farmer; Place of Residence: Western Pct. Herrin, IL B: in Trigg county, Ky. His parents: Patrick Guthrie and Susan J. Preston. He married Frances Ellen James-age 23 (1863) born in Carterville.IL At home of father F.M. James and mother Caldonia Crain (both born in Illinois) I have 1900 Williamson County, Illlinois Census -Herrin's Prarie Precinct- SD14 ED 114 : 226 showing James W. Guthrie B: May 1861in KY-age 38- occupation-coal miner, Father born in KY and Mother born in Ky Married to Ellen B: Aug.10, 1863 in IL age 36 -Father and Mother both born in IL Children Odessa B: Nov. 1888 -age 11-IL *Edward B: Feb. 19, 1894- age 6 -IL D: Sept. 25, 1949-Herrin, IL *Edward Guthrie. I have birth and death certificate from Wms. County,IL. Birth certificate (1894) states Edward's father as James William Guthrie- age as 31 (Born 1863) in Cerulean Springs, Ky. James's occupation is coal miner. Edward's mother was Frances Ellen James age 29 (born Aug.10, 1864) in Carterville, Il and died July 6, 1949 in Herrin, IL. Cannot find James William Guthrie buried in Herrin City Cemetery by wife, Frances Ellen. His wife's name was Frances Ellen Carlton when she died. Have her death certificate! Cannot find a death certificate on James William Guthrie in Wms. Co, IL. . Don't know when James died, just know it was before 1949. Could have been killed in coal mines. So going to check Jackson County, IL for death, also Trigg County, KY. Did find a James William Guthrie- Born:1859 D: 1931 buried in Cerulean Springs Cemetery, Ky (also known as Turner Cemetery and Buxton-Turner Cemetery). Don't know if this is the same James for sure! I have no information on Patric Guthrie, father of James but that he was B: ca 1841 in KY. married to Susan J Preston born in KY. I hope this information is suffcient! Thank You!
