    3. I don't know anymore about Gatha Franklin and I wonder if perhaps it is a mistake in his first name. It was sent to me years ago by someone before we had internet genealogy. I found these on an Ethel Tolliver, who is possibly yours, let me know if you need the info. However, I can't find your Gaitha and Ethel in 1920 or 1930 anywhere in U.S.: 1900 United States Federal Census about Ethel Toliver Name: Ethel Toliver Home in 1900: Hoosier, Clay, Illinois Age: 2 Birth Date: Jan 1898 Birthplace: Illinois Joseph do you have a guess who the parents of Gatha Franklin were? The only Gatha Franklin I could find in any database was in Social Security Death Index birth 24 Aug 1914 death 15 Feb 2005 last known residence Louisville, Clay IL. A phone directory lists residence as Benton, IL. The usual reasons people are not in the census seem to be (1) missed by the Census Taker (2) name misspelled (3) individual uses a different name (nickname etc) The above Gatha should have been in the 1920 & 1930 censuses. You might look for an obituary to find relatives. You could also write for his Social Security Application which should list parents. I think Georgette is spot on and has found Ethel Tolliver for you. Your Ethel is likely the daughter of James & Cornelia Tolliver; son Jesse O. stays near his parents. Ethel seems to disappear. The Tollivers have Franklin neighbors in 1920 and 1930 but I can't match them to Gatha.
