> From: braceydoyle@msn.com > Subject: [IL-Cen] 1910 / EDGAR / ALBRECHT, Everett > Please look for Everett Albrecht. He married a dau. of John Andrew and Martha Ann Rhoads Dye between 1900 and 1907. By 1928, his wife had died, as she was not listed as a survivor in her mother's obit. There are two Dye daughters, born between 1866 and 1868 who are possible wives for Everett. One is Luella, born 1866 according to the 1880 census. The other is Mallie F?, b. 1868, according to the 1900 census. I realize this isn't much to go on, but anything you can find out will be greatly appreciated. Karen This is weird. I can't find Eve* Alb* in 1910/1920/1930. I can't get anywhere with Mallie and Luella after 1900. _________________________________________________________________ Rediscover Hotmail®: Now available on your iPhone or BlackBerry http://windowslive.com/RediscoverHotmail?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_HM_Rediscover_Mobile2_042009
Karen, Georgette is such a good researcher I like to read her comments and clues first before responding; but to clarify does the obit list Everett Albrecht as a resident of Edgar? I couldn't find Everett either using every combination including alternate spelling Albright. I too can't find Luella. There are Luella & Everett Albrechts in later censuses but too young to be these. I looked 1880 through 1930 and couldn't find an Albrecht in IL that fits the criterion. As you know, Mollie is a nickname for Mary. so I think the Mallie of 1900 is actually your Mary F. Dye. Did you find an obit for Papa John? It might be helpful to establish surviving children. 188o Symmes, Edgar also lists a child Lillie age 8 do you know what happened to her? Hi Beverlee, >From the obits of John Andrew Dye and his wife Martha Ann Rhoads Dye, it wasn't clear to me whether Mrs. Everett Albrecht was in Edgar Co. or not. Below are my transcriptions of the copies of the obits. The obits are preceded by all the census info I have on the family and are followed by an attempt to figure out which dau was Mrs. This and which was Mrs. That! It's a bunch of stuff. Hope your mailbox has lots of room! Unfortunately, the 1928 obit was near a crease which left the lefthand margin unintelligible. I've enclosed my guesses in question marks. I looked by Edgar Co. Dye brides before 1900 online and found this. Edgar Co. Marriages Pre-1900 show Flora Dye married Everett Allred in 1896, but I couldn't find them either. Funny you should ask about Lillie F. b, 1872 in the 1880 census. I don't know what happened to her. I should have listed her as a potenial wife for Everett Albrecht. As you'll see from the obits. there is also a dau. named Mrs J. B. ????? in 1907 and in 1928. I don't know whether she is Lillie F., Luella, or Mallie F. You suggest that Mallie F = Mollie F. = Mary F..= Mary. I hope you are right. That would help fix a problem I'm having. I got the names of 13 kids from the 1870-1900 censuses, but both the parents's obits insist there were only 11 kids. I was wondering which girls were really the same, but differences in birth years kept me from feeling comfortable about combining any of them. John Dye, an old resident of this city, passed away, at six o'clock this morning, at his residence No. 811 South Central Avenue in this city, of a complication of diseases and a confinement to his bed for a fortnight. Deceased was born at Mason, KY in 1834, and was nearly 74 years old. He immigrated to Illinois, where he was married Nov. 11, 1860 to Miss Martha A. Rhoads, who still survives. To this union? were born eleven children, nine of whom survive, as follows: Charles and Frank Dye, Mary Dye, Mrs. Everett Albrecht, Mrs. J. ????????, Mrs. W. J. Griffin, Mrs. Harry Baker, Mrs. M. A. Ingold and ?Mrs. Burnie Younger. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Maggie Car??uter, of Cincinnati, O., and two brothers, Ross Dye, of Bloomington, Ill., and Henry Dye, of Peabody, KS. Deceased was a genial and jolly companion, and had hosts of friends among his associates. He had sympathy for the sick and the distressed, and was diligent in all good works, his ethics being those of a Christian gentleman. He was therefore a fine friend and a good neighbor, and will be mourned by a large number of relatives and friends. It is understood that the funeral will take place on Monday [Mar 11, 1907], but the time has not yet been fixed nor have any definite arrangements yet been made for for [sic] the service or the interment.
