    1. [IL-Cen] State or local census records?
    2. My grandfather was enumerated in Kansas in 1860, then moved to Illinois when the Civil War broke out. He then left Illinois for South Dakota approximately 1867. I am trying to locate where he might have been in Illinois. He would not be in the normal decennial federal census records for Illinois. Are there any state census or other records that might help me to locate the county or town in which he may have lived? I have a lot of good information on him before and after Illinois, but almost nothing for Illinois. Thanks for any help. Larry Turner
