Hello, I am looking for Friedrich/Fred/"Fritz"/Frederick LADWIG (Sometimes misspelled LADEWIG and mistranscribed as LUDWIG) in the 1910 Chicago, Cook County census. In 1911 he was living at 2339 Elston Avenue in Northwest Chicago (near Bucktown area). He died that year falling down the stairs. On the coroner's inquest it lists his occupation as "watchman", although earlier censuses list laborer, carpenter. In 1900 he was living at #220 Armitage, Bucktown area of Chicago, but he doesn't seem to be listed at that address in 1910. He was 68 years old in 1910, born in Germany/Prussia/Pomerania in about 1842. He immigrated in 1876, naturalized in 1882. He had two wives: Maria Kamin, born c1844 in Prussia/Germany, and a Henriette, born September 1838 in Germany. In 1900 he was listed with Henriette, but she isn't mentioned in the coroner's report. His children (grown up and probably living on their own, some I think had died by then): 1. Wilhelmina "Minnie/"Mina" LADWIG, born c1866 Prussia 2. Carolina Ladwig b. c 1869 Prussia 3. Maria/Mary/Marie Ladwig MOELLER, born Feb 28 1872 Prussia 4. Friederich "Fritz" Fred LADWIG, born Prussia same date (twin) 5. Ernst/Ernest LADWIG, born Prussia Dec 1876 6. Otto J. LADWIG changed to LUDWIG, born Chicago, IL c1878 7. Carl LADWIG, born c1879 in Chicago 8. John J. LADWIG Thank you so much for your help. Sincerely, Katherine Bellingham, Washington
