hi, i'm searching for the parents of a Joseph Lockley. he was born in Marion, Illinois on October 13, 1872. would like to find them. thanks ksrudd
>From: "ginny" <rgseaholm@gdinet.com> > I wonder what the terms, "house visit 224" and > "family visit 224", mean? The census enumerator numbered each house in order of going around the block, then numbered each family interviewed. So these numbers help you find the family if you look at the census images. Addresses weren't listed until 1900. If there is more than one family at a house, or if there is a vacant house, the family visits and the house visits will end up not being the same number. Kim, So you are asking for a lookup for a 7- or 8-year-old boy named Joseph LOCKLEY on the 1880 Marion Co, IL, census, right? And if I remember correctly the spelling of the surname may not be correct, right? This is difficult. Who are Joseph's parents? What are their ages? Where were they born? You can search the 1880 census yourself at familysearch.org. Thank you so much, Georgette!!!!!!!! I've now found a baby "Jane" that I didn't know about...no stone in the cemetery for her. I've searched for years in MD. & IL. to find a marriage cert. It is a puzzle as no records in either state. I wonder what the terms, "house visit 224" and "family visit 224", mean? I really appreciate your great help! ginny seaholm Horicon, Wi. *************************************************************** > > When did she marry Wm. Duncan REED? > > Was it in Allegany Co.
