I have a question. My wifes aunt must have married between the 1920 and the 1930 census. I have no good way of finding her without some help from the census. Her family lived in the E D 1154. Their name was Klejnowski but misspelled.((Klimowski) Is it possible to do a census search of that ED with just her given name?. It was Genevieve and she was about 23years old in 1930. Thomas Eziekel SMITH was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1852. He was still unmarried and living in Brooklyn in the 1880 census and was a sailmaker His parents were Eugene born in France and Margaret Shibley born in New Jersey Shortly thereafter he married Mary Ann Daily born in London in 1854 immigrated according to family stories about 1862. They had four children: Eugene, Percival Herbert (born in February 1885) Harry and Elizabeth (Nell) before 1890. I have not found birth records for the children in either Brooklyn or Chicago. Death records vary. I have checked all the Brooklyn birth record cards by hand so I believe they were born in Chicago. There is never another city mentioned. I have found an 1898 license for a wagon issued to Thomas E Smith, so they were in Chicago by that time. If anyone has access to the census substitute for 1890, it would be extremely helpful Thank you very much Lynn Phifer
