Surnames: Thurston Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5d.2ADI/2119 Message Board Post: Payette Independent Payette, Idaho Thursday, February 22, 1900 SCHOOL CHILDREN MUST BE VACCINATED At a special meeting of the trustees of Independent School District No. 32, the following resolution was adopted: WHEREAS, It is reported that some of our neighboring towns are infected with smallpox, which we believe to be true, and deeming it to be to the best interests of all that we should use every means in our power to prevent the introduction of the disease in our midst, therefore be it RESOLVED, That each and every pupil attending our school must be vaccinated before Monday, February 26th, 1900, or such pupil will be suspended until the same is done.
