Sewell home on First Ave. south was the scene of a most delightful wedding, Thursday evening, June 2nd, when Miss Kathe Diederichsen became the bride of Earnest Asmussen. Tthe beautiful double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. C. Rueggeberg, pastor of the Evangelical church, under a large white bell suspended from an arch profusely decorated with flowers, while the wedding march was played by Mrs. Rueggeberg. Promptly at 7:30 the bride dressed in white crepe de chine with draping veil and carrying a bouquet of flowers was led down the big wide stairway by the flower girl, little Leslie Sewell who performed the part in a most beautiful manner. The bride was followed by Miss Blanch Hill, maid of honor, and Miss Leona Diederichsen and Miss Marietta Asmussen, bridesmaids, each of who carried a beautiful white bouquet. The bride was met at the alter by the groom, followed by Eddie Young, best man. While the bridle party stood before the alter, Mrs. Rueggeberg, accompanied by Margarete Asmussen, sang "Oh Promise Me." After the impressive ceremony and congratulations by 45 invited guests, relatives and neighbors of the bride and groom, all were seated at beautifully decorated tables and partook of an elaborate array of refreshments served by Minnie and Freda Casberg, Dorothy Sur and Leona Diederichsen. The beautiful home was a bower of decoration, the June evening was ideal for the occasion and the entire party joined in making it a joyous time to be long remembered. The bride is the only daughter of John Diederichsen, and the groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Asmussen, a worthy couple in every respect and it is with much pleasure that we extend our hearty congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Asmussen are now at home on the groom's ranch four miles east of Payette. Note: According to the Idaho Death Index, Kathe Diedrichsen married Ernest E. Asmussen on 6-2-1921. ch

The ceremony was pronounced by Rev. A. E. Houser, pastor of the Church of God. There were 35 relatives and near friends of the bride and groom present to witness the uniting of this worth couple. The bride was dressed in white Georgette Crepe over white satin, trimmed in steel beads and carried a bouquet of roses. The decorations of white and pink gave the room a beautiful appearance. Immediately after the ceremony a most bountiful wedding dinner was served by Mrs. Shafer. The center piece was of white and pink carnations. The wedding cake was a very elaborate affair -- the ingenious work of Frank Walters, proprietor of the City Bakery. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Jackson of North Payette, and to give due eulogy of the real worth of this esteemed young lady is just a little beyond the ability of a common newspaper editor. She has lived in this community since childhood and her sweet disposition and charming ways has won for her, favor among all. The groom is one of Salem, Oregon's thrifty young ranchers. He is a stranger in this community but we have all reason to believe he is one of Salem's best young men. The happy couple were the recipients of many beautiful wedding presents to keep in memory the occasion of December 12, 1920. Everything passed off lovely during the evening of pleasure, until the guests were retiring for their homes, when the bride was called to the door on the pretence of a farewell adieu but was forcibly kidnapped, loaded into an auto leaving the groom to walk the floor between naps on the couch until four o'clock in the morning when she was returned, a little weary but apparently enjoying the joke. Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt will remain here with relatives and friends until after the holidays when they will depart for their home at Salem. The best wishes of a host of friends will go with them. Note: According to the Idaho Marriage Index, Mildred Opal Nichols married Harold Meredith Hewett on 12-12-1920. ch

O. Luther at the Court House last Saturday afternoon in the presence of a few of their immediate family. The groom is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Connerly who are well and favorably known in this community. Darrel, while yet in his teens, is a hustler and much more of a real man than many who have long passed their majority. He came to Payette with his parents when a boy four years of age and has a host of friends who will congratulate him in securing the lady of his choice. The bride is a stranger to us, but from reliable information we learn that she is a charming young lady -- the best to be found in the city of Midvale.
