Id Obits Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Id/OneidaObits/56 Surname: Ipsen, Parry, Archibald, Schwartz ------------------------- Idaho State Journal - Tuesday, November 7, 2000 MALAD - Lyman Junior Ipsen, age 75, a longtime resident of Malad, Idaho, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at the Oneida County Hospital from injuries he sustained in an auto accident. Lyman was born April 30, 1925, in Pleasantview, Idaho, to Lyman James and Mary Ann Parry Ipsen, joining an older brother, Parry L. He was raised on the family farm in Pleasantview, Idaho, and attended school there until the eighth grade. He then attended school in Malad, and graduated from Malad High School in 1943. He worked on the farm with his father and brother. Lyman married his sweetheart, Ruth Archibald, Dec. 6, 1944, in the Logan, Utah temple. He served in the Merchant Marines and was drafted into the Army. He was proud to serve his country. After his discharge from the Army, he returned to Malad, and resumed farming an ranching, which he did until the time of the auto accident. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the bishopric, ward clerk, MIA, high priest quorum, and as a home teacher. He enjoyed his home, his family and the cattle business which gave him the opportunity to meet many people. He was always willing to give a helping hand and was loved and respected by all who knew him. His wife, Ruth, died in March 1994, and he married one of Ruth's friends, Lucille Schwartz, on June 24, 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Parry, wife, Ruth, and a granddaughter, Jacqueline. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; his daughter Ruth Anne (Bill) Alleman, Benton City, Wash.; his son, Earl (Nadine) Ipsen, Malad, Idaho; grandsons, Eric R. (Penny) LeFevre, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, Jaren L. (Sharlee) LeFevre, Pocatello, Idaho, Zachary P. LeFevre, Benton City, Wash., Victor (Allison) Hernandez, Ft. Lewis, Wash., and Corey Ipsen, Salt Lake City, Utah; granddaughters, Amanda Buffie and Cassie Anne LeFevre, Benton City, Wash., and Mariko Purdum, Malad, Idaho; and nine great-grandchildren; step-children, Glen (Jeanne) Schwartz, Meridian, Idaho, Terill (Peggy) Schwartz, Paul (Sherrie) Schwartz and Pam (Bob) Broberg, all of Malad; Tam (Steve) Svedin, Nampa, Idaho; 15 step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at 1 p.m. in the Malad Stake Center, 200 W. 400 N., Malad, Idaho. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Idaho, Wednesday evening, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasantview, Idaho Cemetery.
