Ella was born on September 4, 1914, in Malad, the eldest of five children born to Chester A. and Mary Leigh Edwards. She was raised on farms and ranches in the Downey and Malad area and was educated in Downey and Malad where she was a graduate of Malad High School, class of 1932. She was married on December 25, 1932, to Dale H. Willie, who preceded her in death. They had three sons. Ella later married Herman Housner November 9, 1949, and he passed away April 6, 2001. Ella was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a teacher in Primary, Sunday school and Relief Society. She also served in the extraction program (genealogy). She was employed by Ireland Bank for 31 years and was chief operating officer when retiring in 1980. Ella loved people and her family. She was always known as friendly and helpful to all whom she met. She was a member of the Kith Club for many years and, in recent years, became an avid Utah Jazz fan. She also loved! to travel and was able to travel to Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, the Caribbean and most of the continental USA with family and friends. She is survived by her three sons, Dale R. (Donna) Willie of Pocatello, Fred L. (Cheryl) Willie of Montpelier; Dan "Mont" (Sonja) Willie of Twin Falls; one sister, Ida Mae Olson of Twin Falls; one brother, G. Joe Edwards of McCall; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one sister, Mary Peterson and one brother, Chester L. Edwards. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at noon in the Malad LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 20 S. 100 W. Friends may call at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad this evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
