She was born February 5, 1924, in Malad, a daughter of Richard Eli and Ethel Thomas Evans. She was raised and educated in Malad, and was a graduate of Malad High School. Nadine married Robert D. Cleare in 1942, in Pocatello, where they resided for several years before moving to southern California. Following retirement, they moved to Malad, where they have since lived. Nadine enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, gardening and was an accomplished artist, especially in oil painting. She and Robert were the parents of four children. She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Malad; two children, Stanley (Kim) Cleare and Ann (Jim) Hewson, both of southern California; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Dean (Lorna) Evans of Malad; two sisters, Carol (Dayle) Madson of Logan, Utah, Peggy (Dick) Jones of Pocatello. She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, Carol and Robert, and three sisters. Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2003, at 2 p.m., in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
