He was born April 17, 1928, in Malad, Idaho, the son of John Adams and Catherine Hill Evans. He married Orvella Sackett on August 25, 1950, in Brigham City. Following his conversion to the LDS Church their marriage was solemnized July 22, 1959, in the Logan LDS Temple. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy at Idaho State University. He had lived in Boise, Brigham City, and Garland. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Evans Drug Center in Garland where he served his famous "secret recipe" root beer. He had served his community of Garland as mayor for eight years and a member of the city council for eight years. He was a past president of the Lion"s Club. He was a High Priest in the Garland 1st Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as an Elder"s Quorum instructor, a stake clerk and a stake missionary. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Kenneth (Velma) of Midway, UT; Ralph (Shelley) of Farmington, UT; Bruce (Connie) of Riverside, UT; Robert (Melanie) of Tremonton; 23 grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Earl (Alva) Evans; sisters, Margaret Boam and Rayma (Peter) Zagarella. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Catherine Limb; a brother, Lyle Evans; a brother-in-law Gail Boam. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2001, 12 noon at the Garland LDS Tabernacle, 140 West Factory. Friends may call Friday, Nov. 9th from 6 - 8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Saturday, Nov. 10th from 10:30-11:40 a.m. at the Tabernacle. Interment will be in the Garland Cemetery.
